I’m trying to remember…

In this text, written in 2005, Robert Cahen returns to the roots of his artistic language, from his training in musique concrète at the GRM to his early experiments with the electronic image. Through his memories and several seminal works, he reveals how slow motion, transformation and the repurposing of tools enabled him to explore time, memory and the invisible. This gives rise to an ongoing exploration of the moment of transition between two states of the image: that unstable space where ‘something of the order of the In-between’ emerges.
